From Okitipupa to Stardom: The Rise of Beeteecee

Born on January 11, 1993 in Okitipupa, Ondo State, Benjamin Tobi Cyrus, Beeteecee, is setting a trend in the vibrant music scene.

Born to the Imani family of the oil-producing region in Ondo State, Beeteecee’s early life was filled with a rich blend of politics and business as his father was a politician and his mother, a
successful entrepreneur.

His childhood, which was filled with sounds from Bob Marley, Lucky Dube, and Majek Fashek, all of whom his father adored, ignited in him a lifelong passion for music.

Like every other top music artist today, Beeteecee’s journey into music also began when he was a member of his home church choir, where he was able to sharpen his vocal skills. He
continued on until he went to bag a degree in Mass Communication from Benson Idahosa University.

His secondary and primary education saw him through Success International College, and Full Stature Primary School, Okitipupa, respectively.

Music started for Beeteecee professionally in 2014. Although based in London, he also faced the harsh realities of being an independent artist, struggling financially and mentally. This led him to take a decade-long break from the industry.

However, Beeteecee is back, determined more than ever, to make evergreen marks in the industry. His first mark was made with the release of a chilled banging track “Inspiration’. A track he produced alongside his Broski Ko Jamal.

“Inspiration” was a song I made immediately after I came out of some sort of md-life crisis I was going through 11 years ago. I got that inspiration that I definitely achieve anything that I put my mind into believing everything is possible”, Beeteecee shares.

Influenced by music giants such as; 2face Idibia, D’banj, Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Ice Prince, Beeteecee’s sound is a fusion of afro fusion, afro swing, and afro dancehall. You will make no single mistake if you call him an Afrobeat artiste.

His music reflects his life experiences and the African cultural background, creating a unique and engaging listening experience. His latest single. “Paypal” set to drop on June 15, 2024, is a testament to his hustle and relentless pursuit of success. The track delves into the daily grind for financial stability, a theme that resonates with many.

“Personally, for me, I take it as me being all about money and hustling for my money and doing this”, Beeteecee explains.

His favourite quote, “SILENCE THE NOISE. REFLECT ON WHAT YOU WANT, AND GO FOR IT”, perfectly summarises his approach to life. As Beeteecee gears up for the release of “PayPal,” the music world watches in anticipation of a blend of rich cultural influences and modern afrobeats.

No doubt, Benjamin Tobi Cyrus, Ondo’s son of the soil is back and ready to reclaim his spot in the music space.
