Fubara to bridge gaps in Rivers’ healthcare services

Rivers State governor Siminalayi Fubara

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has said that his administration is determined to bridge the gap between the primary, econdary and tertiary healthcare services in the state.

He stated that his government is committed to improving the healthcare infrastructure and services available to the people.

According to the governor, the results of the healthcare initiative would make the state a first choice for medical tourism in Nigeria and Africa.

The governor said this, yesterday, in the Government House, Port Harcourt, while speaking on the modest achievements of his administration in the health sector since his assumption of office.

Fubara, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, emphasised that the ongoing reconstruction, rehabilitation and upgrade of all primary healthcare facilities across the state, are targeted to integrate them with existing secondary and tertiary institutions to deliver quality healthcare.

Besides the construction, renovation and upgrade of primary healthcare centres across the state, Chukwudi stressed that the capacity of the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (RSUTH) has been improved with the training of personnel and establishment of critical units, equipped with modern equipment to deliver sterling expertise services to patients.
