GLEIF appoints Alayande as non-executive director

Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation (GLEIF) has appointed Dr Folarin Alayande as Non-Executive Director. Alayande, an international development economist, technology investor and financial services executive, studied Finance and Accounting at the London School of Economics.

With a track record spanning over two decades in corporate transformation, Alayande has advised and worked with global and emerging market corporations at the intersection of digital technologies and finance. He had held leadership roles at Accenture and served as Chief Strategy Officer of FBN Holdings Plc.

The economist was also in the Presidency, serving as Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the President on Economic Recovery/Coordinator of the Economic Plan Implementation Unit. He is currently Vice President, Public Sector, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa at Mastercard.

The board of the Basel, Switzerland-based GLEIF, which also made three other fresh appointments in a statement by its chair, T. Dessa Glasser, noted: “These new members bring diverse expertise from various sectors and markets, further enriching the strategic vision and governance of the organisation.

“We warmly welcome the talent and experience that these new members bring to the organisation.”
