Twists, betrayal, dramas and bizarre moments are expected for the struggle to win a soul-mate, N20 million and other prizes in the second edition of Hello Mr Right, a dating show by Star Times.

Whether you believe that love is blind or not, there’s no doubt that this twist on Hello Mr Right is hard to stop watching.

For this show, single men and women do not talk to each other from isolation pods without seeing each other until they agree to get engaged, after the audition, they come in contact to kick off an affair.

In each of the episodes, a man will have to choose or be chosen by a love interest among twelve single ladies.

Hello Mr. Right breaks the stereotypes of the reality dating show genre by focusing on the emotional and psychological aspects of love, rather than the physical and superficial ones.

The show also tackles the social issues of age difference, cultural diversity, and gender roles in relationships.

The most exciting aspect of the show is the cash-out or cash-big option, which allows the couples to take instant cash prizes ranging from N10,000 to N250,000 or enter a public vote to win N5 million Naira cash as the perfect couple. This option will test the couples’ loyalty and compatibility as they decide whether to stay together or go for the money.

The show made its debut in 2019 but could not continue in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

With the guidance of some of Nigeria’s most talented celebrities, viewers should expect hilarious banter and witty remarks in the middle of matchmaking tension.

Nigerian actor, Bolanle Ninalowo, will mentor the contestants while

At the same time, social media influencers and TV host, Kiekie, Shine Begho and Oyindamola bring humour and charm to the show as they interact with the contestants.

This year Indomie, Colgate, Lush Hair, 9mobile, CallerTunez, Taeilor Furniture, Chef Panda restaurants and others support the show.

COO, StarTimes Nigeria, Tunde Aina said the show was carefully curated to offer electrifying fun to family entertainment.

Speaking on the idea behind the show, Head of Media, StarTimes Group, Lily Meng said: “We produced this show back in 2019 but took a break because of COVID-19; we have achieved success in other countries such as Tanzania and Kenya, but for this season in Nigeria, we are doing something different. We have upgraded in all aspects. There was no audition in season one but we have auditioned in four different cities in this edition because we want diversity and we invest a lot in both the contestants and the hosts.

“The contestants are lodged, and then we bring them to the studio for the show.

“We are planning a reality show where contestants will be housed and compete but we don’t want to have a show like the one existing in the country.

Speaking on the show, Begho said: “Hello Mr Right is very exciting and as one of the hosts, I can say that the contestants are amazing, they are in the show with their A-game. It was clear they wanted to stop being single. There are cases where a guy will have to choose between two ladies, a case where two ladies are competing for a man. This is an amazing show and I can’t wait to see the whole world start watching what has been cooked in the thirteen weeks show.

“I love the uniqueness of this show. This is something that has not been done properly in Nigeria before. There has been a lot of content such as acting, singing but seeing something different is refreshing.

Also speaking, Media Manager, Tolaram Group, Adeola Amosun, said: “Adeola Amosun, Media Manager, Tolaram Group said “As a business, we are constantly scanning the landscape to find activities that we can leverage to draw us closer to consumers and to create meaningful connections with consumers. Interestingly, StarTimes, over the years, has been known for producing interesting and market-relevant content, one of which is Hello Mr Right. And this is why we have three major brands as sponsors – Indomie, the market leader in the noodles space, Colgate and Lush Hair.”

The show is produced by FAD Production and airs every Saturday, from June 10, at 08:00 pm on St-Nollywood Plus and 07:50 pm on ST Novela E, entertainment lovers can watch it on the StarTimes ON mobile app.
