The legendary film studios, Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures, have announced the release date for the next instalment in the MonsterVerse film franchise.
The currently untitled sequel to Godzilla vs. Kong: The New Empire will be available in theatres on March 26, 2027. This continues the MonsterVerse’s tradition of March releases, following the successful 2021 release of Godzilla vs. Kong.

Unfortunately, the details about the plot and characters of the new film are not yet known to the public. But fans can mark their calendars for another Godzilla film.
Additionally, the MonsterVerse has established a loyal fan base with audiences worldwide. They have had epic clashes between Godzilla and King Kong. A recent example is their film released on March 29, 2024, The New Empire. The film saw the two former enemies join forces to face a new threat.
Interestingly, MonsterVerse’s reign began on May 10, 2014, with the release of Godzilla. This was the beginning of phase 1 of the MonsterVerse films. Consecutively, it continued with the release of Kong: Skull Island and Godzilla: King of the Monsters in 2017 and 2019, respectively.
Ever since, the franchise has accomplished several feats. It has brought the legendary Godzilla character back to the big screen for the new generation. Furthermore, the MonsterVerse branched out beyond Godzilla, introducing King Kong and other iconic characters like Mothra and Ghidorah.
Importantly, each film has seen spectacular box office popularity.
With the release date set for March 2027, anticipation is already building for the next chapter in the MonsterVerse saga. It begs the question: Will Godzilla and Kong remain allies, or will a new challenger emerge to turn them against each other once again?
