Govs, others felicitate with Tinubu at 72, urge patience from Nigerians

Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo; Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa;the National Chairman,All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr AbdullahiUmar Ganduje; the Chairman, APC United State of America (APC-USA) andthe Conference of Secretaries in Lagos State, yesterday, felicitated with President Bola Tinubu as he clocked72 years.

Soludo described Tinubu as a visionary leader and frontline statesman, observing that the celebrant is renowned for his resolute commitment to democracy, fearless leadership, and unyielding patriotism.

The governor in a statement said Tinubu’s decades-long dedication to public service from Lagos State to the federal level, as well as his dogged fight for democracy has left an indelible mark on the political landscape of our nation.

Also,Aiyedatiwa, who extolled the president, emphasised that Tinubu’s ability to take bold decisions in the overall interest of the people and live with the consequences that may come thereafter without caving in under pressure is unparallel.

On his part, Ganduje in his congratulatory message, called on Nigerians to exercise patience and understanding as the reforms being implemented would surely yield good returns.

Ganduje, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu, referred to the daily gains being recorded by the naira against the dollar, the revitalisation of the nation’s refineries, infrastructural development as well as the protection of lives and properties as inroads so far recorded by the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led administration.


“The economy is on the right track and on its way to recovery. Nigerians would soon heave a sigh of relief and enjoy the fullness of prosperity as Mr President’s reform is already yielding good returns,” he said.

Similarly, the Chairman, All Progressives Congress United State of America (APC-USA), Professor AdesegunLabinjo and National Secretary, Mr. AdemolaFeyiTijani, on behalf of all the members in the Diaspora, urged Nigerians to exercise patience, assuring that the administration’s policies would soon start yielding positive results.

In a statement, yesterday, APC-USA said: “It stands by the visionary and nation builder, on his steadfastness and doggedness to develop Nigeria. APC-USA stands by him on his Renewed Hope Agenda for Nigerians.

We pray for the president to witness and celebrate many more years in good health, happiness and joy. We also pray for more wisdom for the president to lead Nigeria to the promised future.”

Tijani also urged Nigerians not to be in a haste to get disenchanted with the administration, saying, “there is assurance that the current economic hardships would be a thing of the past by the time his policies started yielding results.”

Also, the Conference of Secretaries in Lagos State (Scribes 57), felicitated with Tinubu, describing him as a true democrat for his unwavering commitment to rebuilding Nigeria.


In a congratulatory message by its Chairman, AkeemOlalekanDauda, the secretaries said the president has always readily given himself to the cause of peace, stability, growth and development. “For this, we owe you an enduring debt of gratitude, the statement adds.

The Scribes 57 is a group of secretaries across the 20 Local Councils and 57 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in Lagos State. The statement reads: “Happy 72nd birthday to our leader and President. You stand as a towering figure symbolising democracy, peace and freedom. Your unwavering commitment to these ideals continues to inspire and guide practitioners of democracy, not just in the Southwest but the entire country.”

Dauda, who is the Secretary of Ikeja Local Council, said the President’s influence has continued to resonate beyond the country, extending to the international community and multilateral institutions.

Aiyedatiwa, in a statement he personally signed, equally lauded Tinubu for the role he played in entrenching political stability in the state during the ill-health of the late governor and the impeachment saga.


“Your leadership of the country in these trying times and the stability you have brought despite myriad challenges further validate the litany of stellar achievements you recorded when you governed Lagos between 1999 and 2007.”

Also, a frontline governorship aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming governorship election in the state, Gbenga Edema, lauded the president for his commitment and leadership in steering the country towards progress amid the socio-economic challenges.
According to the governorship aspirant, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a visionary leader whose impact on the political landscape of Nigeria is undeniable.

On his part, Wale Akinterinwa, who is also seeking the ticket of the party, sent a special prayer to Tinubu Akinterinwa said though the president had called on well-wishers and associates to opt for a low-key celebration due to the prevalent economic and other challenges in the country, he nevertheless showered fervent, heartfelt prayers on him in his task of moving Nigeria to the next level.

In a statement by the spokesperson of the Wale Akinterinwa Campaign Organisation, SegunAjiboye, prayed to God to grant “President Tinubu the wisdom and strength to lead Nigeria with justice, integrity, and compassion.”
