THE wife of Taraba State governor, Mrs. Annah D. Ishaku, has called for co-operation of the people in the state to allow the governor, Darius D. Ishaku, succeed in fulfilling his campaign promises to the people, urging all to bury their differences, forgive one another and embrace peace.
She said the governor would not only succeed in fulfilling his campaign promises to the people, but would as well go extra miles in taking the state, which had suffered a lot of setbacks, to a greater height.
Mrs. Ishaku, who solicited for co-operation for the emergence of a new Taraba where peace, unity and development will strive, said the state belongs to all irrespective of religious, political or ethnic differences.
The wife of the governor, who made this passionate appeal yesterday while discussing with media practitioners in Jalingo, the state capital, said relevant plans have been mapped out by her to establish a non-governmental organisation (NGO) that would assist in training the people, especially women and youths on various skills acquisition.
She said: “I am going to set up an NGO that would train people in different skills acquisition programmes with the sole aim of empowering the people to make them become self-sufficient and employers of labour.
“Our people must understand that there is dignity in labour. They must understand that the most important thing is to put food on the table and not to look for government jobs where they go to offices and sleep but collect salaries at the end of the month.”
