Green Image, Dammy Gee foster national unity with new radio programme

Green Image Productions and Green Radio Chief Executive Officer, Oni Oluwagbemiga, mostly called Dammy Gee, is using his platform to promote the unity of the country through a radio drama programme titled ‘One Naija – Better Together’

The programme is produced in Pidgin English and aims at fostering togetherness, unity and oneness among Nigerians. The drama programme has been well-received by listeners and has played a pivotal role in uniting Nigerians and fostering positive behavioural changes among the people.

In celebration of his 42nd birthday, Dammy Gee is determined to continue with the ‘One Niger – Better Together’ campaign, which he considers as a way of contributing his own quota to nation-building, using the programme.

In an effort to attract a wider and dedicated listenership, the radio drama is set to be adapted into other local languages like Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa.

“This no doubt is demanding and challenging but again, it’s a cause which must be actualised,” Dammy Gee said.

With over two decades of industry experience, Oni’s unparalleled expertise in radio drama production, where he reigns supreme in Nigeria’s media space, has played a pivotal role in uniting Nigerians and fostering positive behavioural changes among the population. His desire is to see Nigerians irrespective of their tribes being treated with respect and sense of belonging anywhere they reside (in Nigeria) without any fear and intimidation.

He believes Nigerians should tap into the richness of its diversity, which is nothing but pure blessings from God and not a tool to cause unnecessary division among themselves, hence the need to cherish and protect this blessing from God by embracing unity.

“After all, we are One Nigeria and are definitely better together,” he noted.

Green Image Productions have produced several radio dramas in the past, including ‘Dotti don do’ (an environmental awareness drama), ‘Patient Navigator’ (a breast cancer awareness radio drama), ‘Happy Ending’, ‘No Strings Attached’, ‘The little I Gave’,  among others.

These programmes have been instrumental in raising awareness and promoting positive attitudinal changes among Nigerians.
