Group criticises G-5 Governors’ parley with Tinubu

A group of Concerned Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has raised objection against Thursday’s meeting by the five dissident former Governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), popularly known as G-5 Governors, with President Bola Tinubu.

The group in a statement it made available in Abuja, on Friday, said that the defeated Four ex-Governors of Rivers, Enugu, Abia and Benue states were usurpers who have come to reap where they did not sow.

The group further described the revoluting former governors who all lost elections in their respective states, except the Oyo state Governor, as ‘Food is ready politicians’, and ‘job seekers,’ making entry behaviour in the APC with a sinister plot to pull down the ruling party as they did with the PDP.

The group asked President Tinubu not to give the former Governors a chance to destroy the APC in the guise of seeking a position to occupy in an administration they completely worked against its victory at the polls.

They said that the former PDP governors should not be glorified with ministerial or ambassadorial positions, as they allegedly solicited for, adding that under one week of week’s visit to Tinubu, he started making accusations about the APC leaders.

In the statement authored by the group’s Chairman, Chuka Okwukpo and its Secretary, Suleiman Agada; the concerned APC stakeholders said that the self-styled leader of the G-5 Governors, Nyesom Wike has in the recent time become a torn in the flesh of Nigerians, whose frequent interviews and visits to the Aso Rock villa has caused ripples among members of the APC, warning that the antagonistic Wike should not be given any chance in APC that he has stood against throughout his political life.

“Now Wike has brought to the Villa the valueless former PDP governors who were rejected in their respective states and have no more political prowess left in them. Look at Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi who in the mist of his confused mind worked for Peter Obi of the Labour Party as well as for Atiku Abubakar of the PDP. He could not even win his senatorial contest same as his Abia state counterpart, Okezie Ikpeazu.

“Ikpeazu, everyone is aware was stuck to the PDP when his governorship candidate in Abia state died and he prevaricated, yet was stuck in the PDP. He compelled his people to vote for Atiku Abubakar because the PDP held him in his balls. Ugwuanyi funded the presidential candidate of LP as well as the PDP, ensuring that the APC was suppressed and destabilized in Enugu state.

“The only person that supported Asiwaju Bola Tinubu was Seyi Makinde of Oyo state, which was the reason the APC supported him for his second term election.

“In the case of Nyesom Wike, he supported the APC presidential candidate out of duress as against his volition because he was cut in between the devil and the deep blue sea. He wanted to extinct the Rotimi Amaechi factor in Rivers State, and exerted so much suppression and impunity against members of the APC in Rivers State, to the extent that he ensured that the APC does not have access to the INEC electoral materials which the Tribunal asked our party to get evidence for our matter in the Rivers State gubernatorial election fraud.

“Samuel Ortom of Benue state made his own choice clear that he supports Peter Obi and compelled his people to vote for the Labour party which cost him the loss of his senatorial bid. Ugwuanyi is the king of deceit while operating under the cover of a God-fearing man, never takes a stand in any position, who is widely known for betraying everyone he’s ever had dealings with right from his days in the green chambers during the Patricia Eteh impeachment, to Demeji Bankole and to Aminu Tambuwal.

“He funded and supported PDP presidential candidate Atiku and also the LP presidential candidate, Peter Obi at the same time, while funding the destabilization of APC and used some stakeholders in Enugu state. Ugwuanyi ensured that those APC stakeholders did not turn up for Asiwaju’s campaign rally in Enugu. The same thing Ikpeazu did in Abia state.

“Within these few moments Wike visited the Aso villa, he has jammed APC stakeholders’ heads against one another. This is a man who once he doesn’t get what he wants, he destroys everything. Is that the type of character we should open our doors for? The answer is No!

“We all know that wants to run for the presidency and he’s only coming close to Asiwaju because he wants to understudy the President. Therefore, President Tinubu’s accommodation of any member of the G-5 Governors, with the exception of Seyi Makinde, would divide both the National Working Committee and the entire rank and file of the APC. Mr President should note that the election is just 36 months away and bringing in ant-infested politicians such as these four weak ex-Governors will obviously corrupt the APC.

“Mr President should please bear in mind that almost all the APC members in some geopolitical zones, such as in the southeast, worked against his emergence and their Governors were prime leaders, particularly in Abia and Enugu state where ex-Governors Ikpeazu and Ugwuanyi ensured that Tinubu was put to shame. At the appropriate time, the videos of their sabotage will surface.”
