Group empowers women with food items, pledges more in 2024

A Faith based-organisation, Destiny Encounter, has provided a lifeline to Lagos households through the distribution of 1,400 food items and essential resources to women.

Convener of Destiny Encounter, Lagos, and Pastor of Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Seed of Life, Ketu, Busayo Omoniyi, said the gesture was to liberate homes from the clutches of poverty.

Sharing his vision for the group in 2024, Omoniyi said Destiny Encounter, as a divine tool, is poised to liberate more homes, bringing hope and empowerment to countless lives in 2024.

According to him, “the group recognises the pivotal role that women play in building strong communities. To further support and empower them, the organisation has generously provided some grinding machines. This will not only facilitate economic independence but also contribute to the overall well-being of these women and their families.

“Earlier in 2019, Destiny Encounter built nine toilet facilities for schools in Alapere, the Ketu area of Lago, and has continued to support members beyond their spiritual growth.

“Going beyond mere provisions, the group has taken a holistic approach by fostering entrepreneurship among women. The organisation has played a crucial role in establishing and supporting many other small businesses, opening doors to financial stability.”

As Destiny Encounter continues its mission to bring positive transformation, Omoniyi encouraged people to embrace faith, resilience, and consistency in God’s service.

“Through total reliance on the power of God, the organisation foresees many more liberation from the chains of adversity, offering a brighter and more promising future for all followers online and on-site in 2024,” he added.
