Group under the aegis of Wazobia, has endorsed the present Minister for State for Budget and National Planning, Prince Clem Agba and the Edo oil magnate, Hon. Valentine Asuen, the Chief Executive Officer of DVD Oil and Gas Nigeria Ltd for governor and deputy governorship seat for the Edo 2024 governorship election as their preferred governor and deputy governorship candidates.
The decision was received at the end of a meeting that lasted for over eight hours in Benin City, the Edo State capital on Wednesday, where the group appealed to the Minister to declare and contest for the election.
They vowed to come out en mass to campaign, mobilise and sensitise its members to nominate, campaign and vote for the duo for the development and transformation of the state.
Spokesperson for the group, Alhaji Ahmed Idris told journalists that their preference for Agba and Asuen, popularly known as DVD are in view of their political steadfastness, competence, and philanthropic gestures unlike other politicians, who do not have the interest of the people at heart.
The group noted that among all political heavyweights in the state, Agba, is well known for his developmental strides in the state as Minister and enjoys the goodwill of his people due to his commitment towards the development of the state.
Wazobia Group is a non-governmental organisation aimed at uniting and promoting the political interest of non-Edo indigenes in Edo State.
