Sagamu in Ogun State was agog last weekend as Empower Youth Organisation held a dynamic Youth Leadership Programme, first of its kind, which attracted youths from almost every local government of state and beyond.

Convener of the event, Janet Olaolu in her welcome address highlighted the significance of grassroots initiatives in igniting transformative change. To her, ‘it takes a man to change a society’, if only the man is totally committed to such a cause.

The programme also featured distinguished guest speakers, including renowned former Vice Chairman, Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, Babatunde Irukera, who inspired attendees with insights on harnessing the passion and energy of the youths to drive meaningful change through participation.

He later taught the participants how to measure performance and service delivery before engaging service providers on low performance or disservice to the consumers. He encouraged consumers to continuously engage service providers on issues regarding delivery and ensuring they take responsibility for their abysmal performance.

Programmes Lead Ideation Hub Africa Oluwatoyin Banjo, shared invaluable perspectives on cultivating personal value and adopting new mindset conducive for growth and development. She further encouraged the youths to maintain good character, diligence, competence and integrity.
