The wife of the paramount ruler of Ninzo chiefdom, Alhaji Umar Musa, in the Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State was on Wednesday night abducted by some gunmen, suspected to be bandits.

The bandits were said to have initially abducted the paramount ruler and his wife from their palace in Fadan-Ninzo.
Eyewitnesses said the gunmen had stormed the palace and began shooting indiscriminately before carting away the duo and some residents of the community.

However, the spokesman of the Kaduna State Police Command, ASP Mansir Hassan, said that the kidnapped traditional ruler later escaped from the custody of the bandits, Channels Television reported.

They abandoned him due to the heavy pressure mounted by police operatives, who immediately responded to the distress call.

He added that the police operatives are actively pursuing the bandits to rescue the traditional ruler’s wife and other hostages still in their custody.
