Gunmen kill two travellers in Taraba community

Suspected gunmen have reportedly two travellers along Tsokundi expressway in Wukari council of Taraba state.

The Guardian learnt that the incident, which occurred at about 12 noon, on Tuesday, created tension in the area already enmeshed in violent crimes.

Besides the recent development, the council and other areas of the state, have recorded several bandit attacks.

Confirming the attack, the council chairman, Dr. Daniel Adigrace, said the travellers were killed on their way from Wukari town to Tsokundi village.


He said the victims were traveling on a motorbike when they were ambushed.

He charged the security operatives to arrest and prosecute the attackers who have been terrorising the community.

Adigrace called for urgent stakeholders meeting, which he said would help to address the security challenges in the council.

He also requested additional security operatives in the area.
