South Africa Coach, Hugo Broos, is confident the Bafana Bafana will get at least a draw from their game against the Super Eagles in Uyo on Friday.

Barring any st-m change, the South Africans are expected to arrive in Uyo today ahead of the 2026 World Cup qualifier against Nigeria at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium on Friday.

Speaking ahead of his team’s departure from the Olive Tambo Airport, Johannesburg, yesterday, Broos told the South African media that the Bafana Bafana are confident of getting at least four points from their forthcoming World Cup qualifiers against Nigeria and Zimbabwe.

He said: “I don’t want to lose any of the matches against Nigeria and Zimbabwe. We were better than Nigeria in the Africa Cup of Nations semifinal, but they were luckier and won the game to qualify for the final.

“We are not afraid of their Europe-based players because we showed that we can battle successfully with them at the AFCON.

“We are coming off a good friendly game with Algeria and we are confident that we can play at the highest level. The goals we conceded against Algeria were individual errors, but we are not dwelling on that.”

He said that getting four points from the two games would put South Africa in good stead for the final run in to the last qualifying games in Group C.

On the match against Zimbabwe, Broos said: “The match against Zimbabwe is different as it is a game between neighbours. After their ban from AFCON last year, they have employed a new coach and have also built a new team. So, it will be a tough game, but we are confident and believe in our chances.”
