Afro-pop and rap sensation, Odugbose Olusegun Caleb, professionally known as Priesst, has opened up on his deep connection with his audience through his music


In a recent interview with The Guardian, the fast-rising star emphasized the importance of relatability in his art, stating, “I make sure my audience relates with my lyrics. Drawing from personal experiences, I strive to ensure that every word and melody resonates with listeners, offering them hope, inspiration, and a boost in confidence.”

Reflecting on his musical background, Priesst revealed that his early exposure to music and admiration for artistes like Folarin Falana aka Falz and Olamide Adedeji played a significant role in shaping his artistic journey.


“From a young age, I was musically inclined, playing instruments like drums and keyboards. I always believed I could excel in the industry like my idols,” he said.

Known for his hits Puff-Puff Pass featuring Falz, and the recently released, Osimhen, the singer also shed light on his musical style, highlighting his versatility across genres. He expressed his willingness to explore beyond boundaries.

“I adapt my expression to fit each song, whether it’s rap, Afro-pop, or any other genre. While I thrive in rap and Afro-pop, I embrace the freedom to experiment,” he explained.
