Mallam Kabir Dangogo

Months after Public Relations expert, Mallam Kabir Dangogo, went down with stroke, he would be undergoing a surgery on July 20, 2023, as part of his recovery process.


He is, however, immensely grateful to God, family members, friends and associates, who have stood by him since the health challenge began.
Dangogo said: “While some have money to spare, some provide moral and emotional support. They call to wish me well.

“I like to thank the former Managing Director of The Guardian, Mr. Emeka Izeze, who initiated the idea of doing a report on the situation in which I found myself, after the stroke. I thank God that I have continued to get better and better by the day, but now facing a surgery scheduled for July 20, 2023. May God Almighty see me through.

“I am profoundly thankful to all those who contributed to the fund for the surgery. They include Mr. Bayo Onanuga, Alhaji Muhammad Idris, Alhaji Kabir Abubakar, Mallam Garba Shehu and Mr. Rasheed Bolarinwa, Malam Garba donated twice, which made his to be the highest single donation so far. I can’t thank him enough.

“Others include Mr. Tayo Obe of Taijowonakabe, Alhaji Muhammed Abdulahi, Alhaji Sani Bako, Alhaji Lawal Musa, and Mr. Bola Adeola, Alhaji Farouk Usman paid for the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scan at Mallam Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital and my hotel accommodation as well.

“A former ACAMB President, Mr. Lanre Alabi and his group of friends and associates contributed for the surgery. They have done very well to come to the aid of an associate who was in need of help.

“Alhaji Muhammed Imam Yahaya, advised on how to solicit for help. I thank him for that. Ahmed Shekarau and Abdulazeez Abdulahi donated generously to the fund. My former colleagues at Union Bank, Mr. Akintola and Mr. Femi Akinmoladum, who resides in Canada and United States, sent in some money when they read about the incident in The Guardian online. I thank them.

“Former Katsina State Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Shehu Shema, pledged to send his donation before the deadline. I thank him so much for that. I thank my elder sister, Alhaja Khadijah Dangogo, who insisted on donating to the fund on behalf of herself and relatives.

“Aliu Akosile made all the contacts with the hospital in Abuja and he offered to send some money, but I declined. Akosile proved to be a worthy friend indeed. I pray that if they find themselves in the same situation tomorrow, may people readily come to their aid,” he said.
