Boye Best

His name resonates in the Juju gospel music genre being one of the voices to be reckoned with. Fast rising musician Adeyinka Adeboye popularly known as Boyebest started music, according to him from the age of 18. And at 19, he had set up a band in the church and he led them in musical exploits both within and outside the church.

He was the lead vocalist and he could also handle and play some musical instruments quite well.

He said: “I was privileged to start at the early age of 18, beginning from the choir of the African Church, Ita Olori, Abeokuta which later became African Church Cathedral, Ita Iyalode, Abeokuta.

“Essentially, I already gathered my band men at the age of 19, because I happened to be one of the vocalists in that church then and I also know how to play the bass guitar a little bit.”

Boyebest, who is the last child from a polygamous home of three wives and eight children, said his late father was both a teacher and a reverend while his late mom was an auxilliary nurse.

He explained further that he had his primary education at a village called Olodo under Odeda Local Government Area of Ogun State and his secondary education at Unity High School, Ago Ika, Abeokuta, also in the state.

He later proceeded to the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, where he said he had his OND in banking and finance, then later proceeded to the premier University, University of Ibadan, for his  B.sc in music.

Boyebest revealed that he is a music consultant to some private schools, teaching pupils the rudiments and techniques of music.

And who are his role models in music? He replied: “My role models are Olubukola Olomola known as Baba Ara of blessed memory, King Sunny Ade, and Sunny Melody UK, also known as Wonderboy Solek UK.”

Boyebest has a tall dream as he sees himself, “having my Music Studio and radio station cut across some areas in the South-West, starting from my home town Abeokuta, and to connect more with a much more better fan base all over the world in the course of my performances around the globe.”
