I was kicked out of home – Victor Nagbe

Victor NagbeAustralian welterweight Muay Thai kickboxer of Liberian descent, Victor Nagbe, has shared some stories about his past and how he would like to handle his future.


Born on October 12, 1993, in Liberia, Nagbe has recorded notable wins over Fabio Pinca, Artem Pashporin, Dylan Salvador, Dzianis Zuev, and Kem Sitsongpeenong and most recently Sam Solomon for the WBC Australian title.

However, Nagbe, while sharing some of his background experiences, said he lived in Liberia where he was born till age 10 before his family moved to Brisbane, Australia to escape poverty.

During his years as a teenager, Nagbe often found himself getting in trouble due to getting involved with the wrong crowds to a point where he was kicked out of his home by his mother.

“When I was 17, I found myself refuge with a father-figure who offered me a 12-month Muay Thai gym membership in Thailand. From there on, I continually trained for four years finding great success in the sport.”
