I won’t deviate from campaign promises, Katsina gov-elect promises

Kastina State governor-elect, Dr. Dikko Radda, has promised not to deviate from his election promises to the people, but ensure that everybody is carried along in the quest to make the state a better place for all.


He spoke, yesterday, while receiving his Certificate of Return (CoR) from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Also presented with CoRs were Radda’s deputy-governor-elect, Faruq Jobe, as well as 33 out of the 34 House of Assembly members.

The presentation was done by the INEC National Commissioner in charge of Kano, Katsina and Jigawa states, Prof. Abdullahi Zuru, at the headquarters of the electoral body in the state.

Zuru, who commended the exercise, which he described as peaceful, called on the elected persons to put the state and nation first in the discharge of their duties.

On his part, Radda said, as governor, he would hit the ground running by building upon his predecessor’s socio-economic transformation of the state.

He promised not to deviate from his election promises to the people, but ensure that everybody was carried along in the quest to make the state a better place for all.

The governor-elect also promised to tackle insecurity and related challenges, as well as run an open-door policy that would involve the people.

“I thank voters in the state for voting us into power. I shall not disappoint you. We shall not deviate from our election promises to you,” he said.

Several dignitaries witnessed the event from the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), including Governor Aminu Masari whose tenure of two terms elapses on May 29, 2023.
