IBD Foundation fetes Muslim faithful, celebrated Easter with underprivileged

The management of IBD Foundations has embarked on a massive food distribution programme targeting the Muslim faithful, underprivileged, and other religious houses during the holy month of Ramadan and Easter celebrations. The foundation known for its series of selfless services and donations to the less privileged in the areas of women and girl child empowerment, education scholarship, sports development, entrepreneurship development and a host of other ways has once again decided to use its responses to put smiles on the faces of those who cannot afford food items most especially due to the biting economy and the surge in prices of food items.

The foundation owned by businessman, Alhaji Ibrahim Dende Egungbohun said the annual food distribution program is a yearly welfare package aimed at reaching out to not only those fasting but also those who cannot afford basic needs for survival due to the harsh economy.

Speaking during the distribution of the food items; Director of the foundation, Mrs Omolara Egungbohun, disclosed that the programme was conceived as an avenue to show love to the downtrodden and also assist the government in cushioning the effect of the biting economy. She said the initiative has been on since inception of the foundation, to provide an opportunity for them to contribute their quota to the upliftment of humanity through corporate social responsibility (CSR).

“We embarked on this outreach just to show that the IBD foundation cares and also show solidarity for those who are currently fasting and the poorest of the poorest who truly need these palliatives. We are currently sharing rice, yams, beans, garri, indomie, oil and other edible items. We are moving from mosques various households and Churches to drop the items so we can reach out to as many people as possible. We have mapped out a plan which we are following so we can reach our target audience. Currently, we have touched many households and people who have shown their deep appreciation and have also been praying fervently for us”

Mrs Egungbohun also disclosed that; the gesture was also extended to the School of Children with Special Needs in Ilaro and the Ilaro Correctional Centre where the foundation renovated and also donated a functioning borehole with a large tank for an easy supply of water. “We are doing this to ease the burden off the government. As private individuals, we can also show solidarity with the government when we embark on projects like this. It helps to make the world a better place when we watch out for each other. We are not doing it for any gain or publicity but we are doing it because humanity comes first and embracing humanity and being your neighbour’s keeper makes us bond very well.”

Also Religious leaders in Ilaro, Oja-Odan, Ebute, and various parts of Ogun State have expressed their gratitude towards the IBD Foundation for their generous distribution of Ramadan and Lent fasting packages. These packages, filled with ample quantities of yams, beans, and rice, are aimed at providing relief to the needy, widows, and the less privileged within the Muslim and Christian communities during this holy month of Ramadan.
