ICF celebrates 2024 International Coaching Week

NIGERIAN chapter of International Coaching Federation (ICF) has begun the celebration of 2024 edition of its yearly International Coaching Week (ICW).

It commenced yesterday and will last till May 15, with the theme: “Innovate, Elevate, Celebrate.”

Folashade Adefisayo, Ajibola Ponnle, Maryam Aliko Mohammed will lead the conversation on the theme.

Yearly, ICF celebrates ICW in 143 nations worldwide. The event aims at educating the public about the benefits of working with a professional coach. It also reviews the progress made through the coaching process.

This year’s coaching week, according to a statement by the organisation, offers a variety of ICW events, including a virtual webinar with ICF-accredited Master Certified Coach (MCC), Abiola Orojo; and courtesy visits on business and government organisations.

  President of the Nigerian chapter, Akanimo Ekong, explained the significance of the week, saying: “This global celebration is a powerful platform to illuminate the transformative potential of coaching. It’s more than a profession; it’s a proven methodology that empowers individuals, organisations, and even nations to achieve lasting, positive change.”

An excellent lineup of industry leaders from across Africa will lead insightful conversations at this year’s ICW. Former Lagos State Commissioner for Education, Folashade Adefisayo, will deliver the keynote. There will also be a power-packed fireside chat featuring immediate past Lagos State Commissioner for Establishments Training & Pensions and Founder/CEO of Human Investment Group, Ajibola Ponnle; the CEO of IRMP Consulting and Membership Director for ICF Nigeria Charter Chapter, Charles Okeibunor; School Lead at Kaduna International School and People & Organizational Development expert, Maryam Aliko Mohammed and Managing Partner of RESILIGENT, Remi Adebonojo.

A significant highlight of the event will be the launch of a 400-page book on coaching from 18 different authors from all over Africa. It combines stories, research, approaches and benefits of coaching with diverse perspectives and experiences that showcases the dynamic world of coaching from an African perspective.
