Igbo leaders meet over 2023

There are strong indications that the political future of Ndigbo as 2023 draws near would be on focus, as leaders of the southeast zone meet next Tuesday, January 5.

The Guardian gathered that the bipartisan meeting would be hosted by Senator Orji Uzor Kalu at his Igbere home in Abia State.


The invitation letters, signed by Kalu, who is Chief Whip of the Senate, listed attendees to include Governors Dave Umahi (Ebonyi); Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu); Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia); Hope Uzodimma (Imo) and Willie Obiano (Anambra).

Others are Senate Minority Leader, Enyinnaya Abaribe; former Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu; Deputy Chief Whip, House of Representatives; Nkiruka Onyejeocha; Deputy Minority Leader, Toby Okechukwu; ministers and former ministers, senators, among others.
