Ikechukwu Confirms Separation from Wife

Nigerian actor and rapper Ikechukwu Onunaku has confirmed his separation from his model wife, Ella, following their extravagant wedding in Lagos in May 2021.

Ikechukwu, known for his debut in the 2013 feature “The Wages,” disclosed the news during an interview with media personality Daddy Freeze on Instagram Live. He clarified that their split was not due to infidelity but rather irreconcilable differences.

He expressed that he had put in effort to save the relationship but he ultimately reached a breaking point due to his wife’s behavior.

He emphasized the importance of ending a relationship rather than resorting to cheating for personal happiness.

He said: “My wife and I are no longer together. We separated due to irreconcilable differences. It wasn’t over infidelity. There was too much gaslighting, fault-finding, and influence from outsiders. I advocate for ending a relationship rather than cheating and pursuing personal happiness.”

During the live, Ikechukwu revealed details about the breakdown of his marriage, citing issues of gaslighting, fault-finding, and external influences as contributing factors.

“I attempted to salvage our marriage, but I reached a point where I couldn’t tolerate my ex-wife’s behavior any longer, and I revealed my true feelings, which we couldn’t reconcile.” he said.

Ikechukwu highlighted instances where he felt emasculated and underappreciated, ultimately leading to the end of their union.

“I don’t have time for chaos, but I become vulnerable when I’m in love. Sometimes, the issues that Killz overlooks, Ike ignores. At a certain point, Ike couldn’t handle it anymore, so Killz stepped in to protect him. When Killz intervened, she realized she had taken Ike for granted because she didn’t appreciate Killz.”

“I tried my best, and I invested everything I had. The woman tried to emasculate me, always making me feel inadequate.” He lamented.
While Ikechukwu did not disclose specific details, he hinted at the involvement of a film producer named Chineyelove in the breakdown of his marriage.

Chineyelove Eze is a Nigerian filmmaker with over 20 movies in her filmography. Popularly knows as the “Youngest Most Successful Filmmaker” in Nigeria. Her film “Hire a Man” in 2017 was a box office hit, earning nominations and accolades, placing her among top filmmakers.

Despite the challenges, Ikechukwu advised couples to prioritize their well-being and consider parting ways if the relationship is full of infidelity or toxicity.

Reflecting on his loyalty and commitment to love, Ikechukwu stressed his reluctance to betray his partner but acknowledged the need to prioritize his own happiness and mental health in the face of marital challenges.

Ikechukwu Onunaku, known professionally as Ikechukwu and Killz, is a multi-talented figure
in the industry of music, film, and fashion. He’s gained recognition as a rapper and singer, with hits like “My Name is Ikechukwu,” while simultaneously carving his niche as an actor starring in popular films like “The Wedding Party.”
