InDrive’s name-your-price model enters additional cities

InDrive

inDrive, the globally recognised mobility and urban services platform, has unveiled plans to have its peer-to-peer ride-hailing in 15 new Nigerian cities and freight services in Nigeria. The announcement was made at the Lagos Startup Week, an event that celebrates entrepreneurship and innovation in Africa.

The Business Development Representative in Nigeria, inDrive, Timothy Oladamije, said the peer-to-peer business model empowers both drivers and riders to dictate their experiences, thereby challenging prevailing market norms.

“By focusing on this unique model, inDrive has positioned itself as a forerunner in people-first focused transportation services. This model has revolutionized traditional ride-hailing services.

inDrive connects individuals who need a ride with drivers who have a car and are willing to provide this service. It has created an environment that not only benefits the users by providing a reliable and affordable transport service, but it also empowers drivers by offering them a flexible employment opportunity.

“This unique model fosters a strong sense of community and helps inDrive stand out in a crowded marketplace. It has been a key factor in the growth of inDrive, demonstrating the power of a shared, community-based economy.”

He said that inDrive’s commitment to community empowerment through fair, transparent urban mobility, and delivery solutions is underlined by this new expansion within Nigeria.

“The company sees vast opportunities within this dynamic country and is eager to engage and serve new local markets.”

He said that his company has already started operation in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt and Ibadan and hopes to extend its reach to Kano, Kaduna, Benin City, Nnewi, Aba, Onitsha, Jos, Enugu, Warri, Abeokuta, Akure, Owerri, Calabar, Ado, Ekiti and Uyo.

“Alongside this ride-hailing expansion, inDrive also introduces a pioneering solution named inDrive.Freight, designed to meet the pressing needs of commercial businesses, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), and private individuals. This on-demand, same-day delivery service caters to freight weighing from 20kg to 20tn. The unique peer-to-peer model allows customers to choose from various delivery options and a wide range of vehicles for city deliveries.”
