INEC declares APC winner of Oluyole representatives seat in Oyo

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), yesterday, declared the incumbent lawmaker and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Tolulope Akande-Sadipe the winner of the supplementary election for Oluyole Federal Constituency of Oyo State.Mrs. Akande-Sadipe was declared winner by the Returning Officer, Prof. Olaniyi Babayemi.


Babayemi said Akande-Sadipe polled 14, 89I to defeat her closet rival, Mr. Olawale Mogbonjubola of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) who had 13, 073 votes.

Akande-Sadipe, who currently represents Oluyole Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, reaffirmed her commitment to deliver more dividends of democracy to her constituency.

Also, INEC has declared Diket Plang of the APC the winner of the Plateau State Central Senatorial Zone. The Returning Officer, Dr. Jima Lar, announced the result, yesterday, in Pankshin, the headquarter of the Plateau Central Senatorial Zone.

Lar said Plang scored a total of 131,129 votes to emerge the winner, adding that Yohanna Gotom of the PDP came second with 127,022 votes, while Garba Pwul of the Labour Party came third with 36,510 votes.


In a related development, Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni has congratulated the APC and the Yobe South Senator-elect, Ibrahim Bomai on his victory.

Buni’s message was contained is in a statement signed by Mamman Mohammed, the Director General Press and Media Affairs to the governor, yesterday, in Damaturu.

The governor issued the congratulatory message after the formal declaration of Bomoi by INEC. Buni described the victory as an additional value to the incoming APC national government.

I am optimistic the Senator would always lend his support to legislations on policies and programmes of the Federal Government.

“We are also optimistic the lawmaker would bring his experience to bear and continue to work towards improving the lives of his constituents,” Buni said. He urged the people of Zone B to continue supporting the lawmaker for more dividends of democracy.
