Prof Kabiru Aderemi Adeyemo

The Vice Chancellor, Lead City University, Ibadan, Prof. Kabiru Adeyemo, has called for adequate funding of universities and other higher institutions to give renewed hope to Nigerian youths.

Adeyemo, who made the call while addressing the newly admitted students of the university, said government has a role to play in making education affordable and relevant to the job market.

According to him, factors that can contribute to renewed hope include government policies, education reforms, infrastructural development and youth engagement, among others.

He emphasised that by addressing these factors comprehensively, Nigeria could cultivate a more hopeful outlook among its youths, driving positive change and sustainable development.

“Above all, the institutions should be well funded and accorded needed recognition, equip students with the necessary mindsets, creative skills and values that would prepare them for 21st Century challenges,” Adeyemo said.
