International Day Of Education: Creatives in Africa empowers youth

In commemoration of the recently concluded 2024 International Day of Education, ‘Creatives in Africa’, an initiative led by Chisom Udeoba, embarked on a mission to promote Creative Education through a project titled ‘Your Child Can Be Creative’.

The remarkable initiative reached children across six cities in three countries – Nigeria, Cameroon, and Ghana.

The project aligns seamlessly with this year’s International Day of Education theme, ‘Learning for Lasting Peace’ highlighting the crucial role education plays in building a peaceful and sustainable future.

The Creatives in Africa team passionately distributed books and educational materials in order to inspire children to think creatively and foster innovative ideas.

Remarking on the project, Udeoba who emphasised the importance of instilling creative thinking and problem-solving skills from an early age said, “creatives are the future of Africa, and solutions to our challenges can emerge through critical and creative thinking. Creatives in Africa’s efforts contribute significantly to nurturing the next generation with skills that extend beyond the conventional, fostering a mindset geared towards innovation. The outreach spanned multiple cities in Africa including -Abuja, Anambra and Enugu, reinforcing our commitment to make a positive impact across borders.”

She continued: “Education remains a cornerstone for progress, so projects such as ‘Your Child Can Be Creative’ play a pivotal role in shaping a brighter future for the continent. The emphasis on creative thinking serves as a beacon, guiding young minds toward solutions that can pave the way for lasting peace and prosperity.”
