Invest Nigeria conference to create 15 unicorn companies

The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has concluded plans to host this year’s edition of the yearly LCCI International Business Conference and Expo tagged “Invest Nigeria.”

Scheduled to hold on Tuesday 27th and Wednesday 28th August 2024 at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, the chamber’s Director General, Dr Chinyere Almona, said they intend to introduce 15 unicorn companies into the economy, sign landmark investment agreements with other countries and facilitate the setting up of 1500 new startups across Africa.


According to Almona, the event will also feature a business forum headlined by the presidency, heads of government, state governments, members of the diplomatic corps, ministry of foreign affairs, ministry of industry, trade and investment and leaders of the organised private sector (OPS).

“It would also feature the governor’s session before the keynote address, where five state governors will speak to the audience on investment opportunities in their states and available incentives; ten business-to-business sessions on oil and gas, manufacturing, agriculture, fintech, textile, and creative arts; six government to government meetings between representatives of the Nigerian government and representatives of other governments and an expo section with delegates and exhibitors from at least 50 different countries,” she concluded.
