IPU admits Nigerian professional association as member

The International Parliamentary Union (IPU) has admitted the Association of Legislative Drafting and Advocacy Practitioners (ALDRAP) as a member of its International Parliamentary Engagement Network (IPEN).

IPEN, which is made up of academics and others, engages in research and practice of how members of the public can engage parliaments. Its secretariat is domiciled at the University of Leeds in Britain.The admission was conveyed in an email to ALDRAP dated March 26, 2024 and endorsed by its Admin Officer, Emma Brewis.

Part of the mail reads: “I am copying other members of the IPEN team so that you have the contacts of key IPEN people such as the Chair, Prof Cristina Leston-Bandeira; Deputy Chairs, Dr Elise Uberoi and Dr Sarah Moulds, and Communications and Events Coordinator, Fiona Blair.”
