Isolo Senior High School student emerges best In essay competition


Precious Ohenwam Okpe, a Senior Secondary School one student of the Isolo Senior High School emerged best at the yearly Four-Way Test Essay Competition, organised by the Rotary Club of Isolo.


About 10 schools participated in the event, which also featured the 2023 new generation conference held at Isolo City Hall, Lagos. At the competition, which comprised essay writing and oral presentation, 14-year old Okpe defeated Aweda Demilade and Okesanjo Opeyemi, both of Ansar-ud-deen College, Isolo to 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.

Imaginative President of Rotary Club of Isolo, Dr. Atilade Oshoniyi, who was represented by Tokunboh Allison, said seeing the efficacy of Rotary’s Four-Way Test to mold lives, it became imperative to start grooming the young stars, many of whom have started derailing, to make them responsible and have balanced community.

“In this dispensation bedeviled with moral decadence, it becomes necessary to ‘catch them young’ by grooming these future Nigerians with the ideals of Rotary Four-Way Test,” Allison said.

Guest Speaker, Rotarian Lu Abikoye, who is the Chief Executive, Android Solutions Limited, advised the students not to be passive in their education, avoid mediocrity and procrastination and be disciplined.

Similarly, Assistant Governor, Rotary International, District 9110, Lagos and Ogun States, Mufutau Adelotan advised the students on the importance of goal setting. Okpe, in his remarks, said the ideal of Rotary Four-Way test has impacted her life in making better decisions.
