The Islamic State of the West African Province (ISWAP) has reportedly executed a police officer abducted along the Damboa – Biu Road in Borno State.
Sources reliably informed Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency media expert that on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at around 10:00 am, the police officer with his wife and children, were in transit from Damboa to Biu for Eid break, but unfortunately went through a banned route.
It was later reported that he and his family were abducted by suspected ISWAP operatives around the Shokotoko general area located approximately 73/km south of Damboa.
However, later in the evening, the wife and his children were released, while the police officer was killed by the terrorists.
Meanwhile, air strikes by the air component of Operation Hadarin Daji on April 10, 2024, have led to the elimination of several terrorists and their structures in Zamfara State.
This is following conducted observation missions over the Camps of terrorist kingpins, Abdullahi Nasanda in Zurmi Local Government Area (LGA) and Mallam Tukur’s camp in Gusau LGA of Zamfara State,
Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) mission reportedly conducted on Abdullahi Nasanda’s Camp revealed terrorists’ activities around some huts and thatched roof structures.
Spokesman of airforce, Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, said some of their motorcycles were also observed hidden on trees.
“Having established that their activities were consistent with terrorists’ modes of operation, the location was struck by multiple aircraft passes, thereby neutralizing several terrorists. Similar ISR missions were conducted at Mallam Tukur Camp, where terrorists’ activities were also observed,” Gabwet said.
“Air strikes conducted on the Camp neutralized several terrorists and showed several structures set ablaze and destroyed.
“Air strikes were also extended to Kani kawa in Maradun town, under Maradun LGA of Zamfara State, where terrorists,their enclaves and equipment were attacked and destroyed.”
