Multi-talented musical artist, Tejumola Adesile Osibanjo, popularly known as Jay Moore in this interview talks about his soon to be released LP.
When did you start music?
I started Music officially in 2017, with the release of You Know feat L.A.X
Who are your biggest Inspirations in Music and why?
Sean Paul, Sean Kingston, Akon, Wizkid and Skepta, because growing up these are the musicians who broke boundaries and defeated the status Quo when it came to Music and Black Culture, they represented their genre/race at the world stage at a time it wasn’t a global trend to do so.
Did you ever change your sound at some point?
Yes actually, I started as a Rapper growing up listening to 50 Cent, Skepta & 2Pac, it was only about 9 years ago I discovered I could actually really sing.
Tell us about the creative process of the L.P Peace Of Mind?
The title is self explanatory, these were the songs I recorded at arguably the best period of my life mentally, and I decided to name the project exactly how I was feeling while working on it.
How did you start music in the first place?
At first it was an escape route for me, therapeutic I would say, I just wanted to forget about all my worries and give my life a purpose and It turned out to be the best thing that happened to me, and to my fans.
How would you say that has worked out so far?
Pretty good I think, I mean I’m currently on my 2nd Project with about 40+ records released and about 500+ unreleased.
Would you say you are one of the few musicians/celebrities who live an introverted/lowkey lifestyle?
I would say I’m one of the few musicians who value real life, if that answers the question. I am a real life person before a celebrity.
How do you manage both the business and the creative aspect of music
I have a great team, filled with people who want to see me win, once you have that, you have everything you need.
What is your plans going forward after this project?
I plan on releasing a deluxe version also, and kick starting my Europe and America Tour, I’m really looking forward to that.
How many tracks and feature are on the project?
There are 12 Tracks with just 2 features, I wanted to express myself more on this particular project and show my versatility as well.
Why should people stream this project ?
Well for Several reasons, one because it’s good music lol and also because I spent quite some time on this project and was in the best state of mind I’d ever been in years, I I feel people would feel these emotions while listening to the project.*
When would the LP be available in stores ?
It would be available on all streaming platforms on the 23rd of February 2024*
Lastly, what would be your advice to every musician who might feel exhausted & overwhelmed with the music industry
My take is very simple, Fall in love more with the creation process than anything else. Look at everything else like an addition that you have no control over, don’t stress too much about them, Just do your best & leave the rest.
