JTB to collaborate with state IRS for enhanced revenue generation

The Chairman of the Joint Tax Board (JTB), Dr. Zacch Adedeji, has said the board will work closely with state Internal Revenue Service (SIRS) to enhance revenue generation in the country.


Adedeji who stated this during an award ceremony to honour outstanding leaders in revenue generation and tax remittance, used the occasion to commend the awardees for their dedication and commitment to their duty and noted that the board was committed to further collaboration with state Internal Revenue Service entities to enhance revenue generation efforts nationwide.

Among the recipients were former Chairman of the JTB and Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Dr. Tunde Fowler as well as the Executive Chairman of the Nasarawa State Internal Revenue Service, (NSIRS), Alhaji Ahmed Yakubu Muhammad, who received the prestigious Long Service Award.


Muhammed was commended for his exemplary leadership and remarkable contributions as well as his transformative initiatives, including significant growth in revenue generation in Nasarawa state and advancements in digitization and capacity building for agency staff. His initiatives were acknowledged as instrumental in the state’s fiscal progress.
Receiving the award, Muhammed thanked Nasarawa State Government for supporting the NSIRS to achieve its set goals.

“I am deeply honoured to receive the Award from the JTB. It’s truly humbling to be among the select seven recipients of the Long Service Award. This recognition is not mine alone but to the Nasarawa State Government, Board, Management and Staff of the NSIRS. The support has been instrumental in our collective success” Muhammed said.
