Kaduna police commissioner gets Interpol award for taming banditry, crime

Kaduna State Police Commissioner, Audu Dabigi Ali, has been applauded for his commitment to reducing crime and taming terrorism in the state.

Vice President of International Police Organisation (INTERPOL, Africa), Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), Garba Baba Umar (rtd), disclosed this when he presented him with a commendation award for his dedication and commitment in combating crimes in Kaduna State.


According to a statement by the spokesperson for Kaduna Police Command, ASP Mansir Hassan, yesterday, Umar “specifically acknowledged the decline in banditry and kidnappings along the Kaduna-Abuja highway and other areas within the state”.

While expressing confidence in Ali’s capabilities, Umar foresaw crime rates decreasing to an unprecedented low across the state, just as he “commended Ali’s proactive measures against criminal activities”.

He said: “As the Kaduna State Police Command continues its relentless pursuit of peace and justice, this prestigious award from Interpol serves as a testament to the dedication and effectiveness of CP Ali’s leadership.”

In his response, the police boss expressed gratitude for the honour and acknowledged the collective efforts of the entire officers in the state towards achieving the results.

He pledged commitment to fostering a safer and more secure environment for the residents of Kaduna.
