Knorr Eativist: Diary of a Kitchen Lover speaks on motherhood and planning healthy meals

As a certified cuisine chef and captivating storyteller, Chef Tolani will leverage her expertise to educate and inspire the public towards healthier eating habits. This interview talks about her passion for creating recipes for pregnant women, her unique storytelling approach, and the art of planning nutritious meals.


Congrats on the new addition! Were there any go-to recipes or dietary practices that were especially helpful during your pregnancy journey and you’d suggest to fellow new moms?

DiaryOfAKitchenLover: Hello! Thank you for the well wishes! Regarding recipes that were especially helpful during my pregnancy journey, I will say that pregnancies differ depending on what works for you. For me, I loved rice and stew, and I found many ways to enjoy them. I made the stew with fish; sometimes, I made the stew with chicken, lamb, goat meat, etc. But I will say, for every pregnant woman, if you find that particular meal or food you enjoy while pregnant, you should look for ways to tweak it so that you can keep enjoying it while still eating healthy. I will also advise you to take fruits and juices; if you cannot chew them, make them into juice. Make sure you are big on taking vegetables. And if you cannot cook, please ensure that you have someone cook for you because you must eat well for your child to grow well.

Your audience values your culinary inspiration. How have you integrated your experiences as a new mom into your storytelling, and what’s the response been to this personal touch?

DiaryOfAKitchenLover: Before now, a lot of people didn’t know that I didn’t have kids because they saw a lot of kids around me. It was when I posted that I was waiting that people kind of resonated with it, it literally went viral. It elevated my career from where I was before to a higher space. And this is happening on all platforms. I am sure that when people think about Diary of a Kitchen Lover, they think about my journey to motherhood, and I am sure that people are looking forward to more motherhood and food content. Me literally posting anything other than motherhood right now; people would start screaming in my comment section, “We want motherhood content”. But I know that I willfind a way to marry both of them. And I am so excited to be on this journey — To use Knorr seasoning for my storytelling going forward

As a new mother and Knorr Eativist, what do you do differently now when planning healthy meals for your family?

 DiaryOfAKitchenLover: I am trying to navigate through motherhood. The good thing is that I have help around me. Before now, I made sure that we had fruits and vegetables; this is very important. It is just a way of creating balance so that you are not just eating all carbs. Also, what I do is that we already have chopped fruits in the house so that in the morning, one can make a smoothie or juice out of it; this helps me to eat healthy every day. As a Knorr Eativist, we all know that Knorr seasoning cubes do not contain MSG, and I use it for my jollof rice and all my cooking in general. I am super excited to go on this journey as a Knorr Eativist. So, I cannot wait to share all of these beautiful recipes and journeys with you guys; I’m super excited about what the future holds.
