Kogi queen delivers triplets after 17 years

The people of Apata in Oworo District, Lokoja Local Council, Kogi State, were agog when their queen was finally delivered of a set of triplets after 17 years of waiting with her husband, the Olu of Apata, Oba Fredrick Balogun.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the elated queen, Olori Teniola-Faith, was put to birth Monday morning at the Federal Teaching Hospital Lokoja.

The palace was filled with singing and dancing as the people celebrated with the royal family.

The visibly happy monarch told NAN that God had been very faithful to his family in the past 17 years.

He said: “This is our day of joy and rejoicing, having received these precious gifts from God after several years of waiting and trusting in him. I am short of words to thank God for what he has done for this royal family. No wonder people have gathered to celebrate with us.

“Another impressive and wonderful thing our God has done for us is that the queen and the triplets are all in good health condition.”

Balogun said the arrival of the triplets was a sign that 2024 is a year of many goodies coming the way of not just Apata community but Kogi and Nigeria as a whole.

The traditional ruler also thanked family members, friends, people of Apata and the hospital management for standing with them all through.
