Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq visited the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus College in Ilorin on Monday to personally commend the students who scored between 300 and 355 in the recent Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). The visit was a symbolic gesture to acknowledge and encourage the achievements of all Kwara students across public and private schools who excelled in the national examination.

“I am here today on behalf of the people and government of Kwara State to say we are proud of you and all others like you across our state,” the Governor said in a brief address to the students. “We are proud of the achievements of this school because you alone have 35 students who scored over 300 in the UTME. So, my visit here is to congratulate you and encourage you to do more.”

Governor AbdulRazaq urged the students in the lower classes to work harder and aim to surpass the results in the coming years. He congratulated the principal and the staff for their hard work and discipline, encouraging them to share their successful practices with other schools in the state.

The principal of the college, Rev. Sr. Margaret Ihinolurinjan, expressed surprise at the Governor’s visit and thanked him for the encouragement. “We are trying to do our best for these children and to inculcate discipline in them, and make sure we do it the right way, and God is doing the rest,” she said.

The Governor’s visit followed an earlier congratulatory message issued to all the students from Kwara, including those from public schools, who had excellent results in the UTME. He described the high scores as the fruit of hard work by the students, their parents, teachers, and the government’s renewed commitment to the education sector.

Governor AbdulRazaq’s visit underscored the importance of recognizing and rewarding academic excellence, and his message of encouragement was well received by the students, teachers, and staff of the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus College. The principal promised that the school would continue to make Kwara proud with its dedication to education and discipline.
