CONCERNED about the cost implication of abandoning projects, a group in Lagos State – Lafiaji Development Association (LDA) – has urged the Lagos State Governor-elect, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, to ensure speedy completion of all on-going projects.

Chairman of the LDA, Mr. Babatunde Abozos said the state would do more, if it could also rejig its tax collection machinery, adding that with more internally generated revenue, the state would do better.

While hailing the outgoing governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola, for his efforts to transformed the state and expand its opportunities, Abozos expressed optimism that the in-coming governor would consolidate on the good works initiated by Fashola.

To make Lagos Island more business friendly, he urged the Governor-elect to address cases of unrest often associated with miscreants within that corridor. “We need to sanitise the area by curtailing cases of unrest on the Island. The government should do more to reduce and, if possible, remove bad elements within the Island. This, I believe would automatically enhance business in the area.”
But he cautioned Ambode to watch sycophants, whose agenda is to distract the government.
