The Lagos State Government on Friday addressed the issue of air pollution from Calcare Building in Ikeja.

The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) confirmed this in a post on X.

“In response to concerns raised by a resident of Abeokuta Street, Anifowose Ikeja about air pollution from Calcare Building today, LASEPA officials have effectively enforced regulations, addressing the issue at its source,” it said.

LASEPA added that during the enforcement, officials also observed the mismanagement of waste oil by this facility.

According to the environmental regulator for Lagos State, the mismanagement of waste oil poses additional environmental risks.

LASEPA said that immediate corrective actions are being taken to ensure responsible waste management practices and mitigate further environmental impact.
