Lagos announces traffic diversion for closure of Kodesog bridge

The Lagos State Government has announced that traffic will be diverted on Kodesoh Bridge for maintenance work from tomorrow, Sunday, February 4, to Monday, March 4, 2024.

Commissioner for Transportation Oluwaseun Osiyemiin a statement on Saturday stated that the closure is to improve the bridge’s condition and will require drivers to find alternative routes.

Osiyemiin added that Awolowo Way and Oba Akran will remain open, serving as alternative routes for motorists.

“Due to the aforementioned development, Kodesoh Bridge will not be open to vehicular movement during the maintenance work,” Osiyemiin said.

“Consequently, all other access roads, from Awolowo Way and Oba Akran, inward and outward, will be open to motorists as only the bridge will be closed.”

Osiyemi assured that traffic management personnel will be deployed to the affected route to minimise inconveniences and improve traffic flow.
