Lagos CJ pledges support for women judges

The Chief Judge of Lagos State, Justice Kazeem Alogba, has assured the National Association of Women Judges in Nigeria (NAWJN) of his unflinching support at all times.

The chief judge expressed his support while receiving members of the association on a courtesy visit to his office in Ikeja High Court premises.

He assured the group of his total support in ensuring that all the female judges in the state participate in the maiden edition of the International Day of Women Judges symposium.

Justice Alogba said that women played vital roles in society, homes, governance, professions, and in all walks of life.

Meanwhile, President of the NAWJN, Justice J.H. Sankey, in a remark, said that the association had reserved two days to mark the national programme.

According to Justice Sankey, the symposium, titled: “The Challenges of Investigation and Prosecution of Sexual Offences: the Lagos State Experience,” is expected to bring together female judges from all judicial divisions across the country and from all high courts to the appellate courts and apex court in Nigeria.

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu will be hosting the symposium as a pacesetter in the judiciary system of Nigeria.
