Lagos council boss proffers solution to Ojodu traffic, inspects local bridges

Chairman of Ojodu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Lagos, Mr. David Olusegun Odunmbaku, has identified the provision of vital bridges and basic Infrastructure as solutions to the perennial traffic bottleneck in the area.  
Odunmbaku, who spoke during inspection of bridges in the area, said replacements of Fadunsi and Adeshina bridges will be a  priority of his administration in the next two years.

He went on the inspection in the company of Councillor Ward A, Honourable Lekan Peters, his chief of staff, Mr. Bode Olaniyan and Chairman Ojodu LCDA National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Rufai Abolore.
 
The council boss stressed that improvements on bridges and other infrastructure are essential to the development of the area, hence the council would collaborate with private organisations on a Public-Private Partnership basis (PPP) to construct the new bridges.
   
He also pledged to work with necessary security agencies to provide adequate security in area.
 
He said: the Upgrade of Adeshina bridge will allow the council to repair Adeniyi Oke and Adeshina streets among others. The Fadunsi bridge replacement would also be a laudable project and it is expected to link the housing estates at the axis.”
 
Odunmbaku stated that the bridges will be replaced in collaboration with the Community Development Associations (CDAs), Community Development Committees (CDCs), landlords association, business owners, traders and all stakeholders along those routes.
 
On completion,  the projects, he said, will facilitate the movement of goods and services, improve the local economy, increase property value and quality of life of residents of Ojodu and its environs.
