.Sanwo-Olu urges Muslims, Christians to pray to God for Nigeria

Lagos State Government has stressed the need to prioritise safety to avert disasters associated with railway systems.


Director-General, Lagos State Safety Commission (LSSC), Lanre Mojola, who gave the charge, yesterday, in his address during the railway safety sensitisation workshop, with the theme,

“Safe By Design: Building a Culture of Railway Safety in Lagos State,” organised by LSSC in conjunction with the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA), in Lagos, said despite that rail transportation remains the most secure and cost-effective mode of transportation, it is not devoid of its own safety considerations.

Mojola, therefore, implored community leaders, local council chairpersons, railway transport operators, and regulators to further sensitise fellow citizens and collectively ensure safety in railway transportation across the state.


Meanwhile, Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has said that Nigerians must take the period of the Ramadan to make special supplications to God to intervene in the country and help bring an end to the challenges confronting the nation.

Sanwo-Olu gave the advice, yesterday, during the State House 2024 special Ramadan prayer.
He said that if Christians and Muslims pray fervently to God, He will answer their prayers for the nation.

He said that trying times does not last forever, but just for a few times, saying that the state government is ready to collaborate with various stakeholders to make the country better and cushion the effect of the harsh economy.

Also speaking, the Grand Chief Imam of Lagos, Sheik Sulaimon Abou Nolla, implored Muslims to take the period of the Ramadan to build a culture of discipline as a people.
