Urge intending pilgrims to pay balance before Feb 12

Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has fixed N4,899,000 as the final cost for the 2024 hajj exercise in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as announced by Chairman, National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Jalal Ahmad Arabi, at the weekend.


The state’s Commissioner for Home Affairs, Olanrewaju Ibrahim Layode, who disclosed this in a statement signed by the Board Secretary, SaheedOnipede, urged the intending pilgrims, especially those that had fully paid the initial deposit of N4.5 million, to endeavour to pay the balance of N399,000 on or before February 12, 2024, to meet up with the deadline given by NAHCON.

Layode, while pleading with the intending pilgrims to show understanding, said that the situation was beyond the control of the state government.
RELATEDLY, Oyo State Pilgrims Welfare’s Board (Muslim Wing), yesterday, announced that intending pilgrims from the state for 2024 hajj exercise are to pay N4.9 million only for this year’s final hajj fare.

Chairman of the board, Sheikh AbdulWahab Hashim Atere, who disclosed this during a meeting with the intending pilgrims and other stakeholders at the State Hajj Camp, Olodo, Ibadan, said that all intending pilgrims who had paid the deposit of N4.5 million or below as earlier announced by the board should pay the balance before February 12, 2024 fixed for the deadline.
