LASTMA, LASAMBUS rescue accident victim in Lagos

Operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) and officials of the Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS) yesterday jointly rescued a male accident victim on Anthony-Oke Bridge inward Gbagada area of Lagos.

Director, Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department, LASTMA, Mr. Adebayo Taofiq, confirmed that the rescued accident victim sustained serious internal injuries during multiple accidents which involved three vehicles including a minibus.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the driver of a ‘Suzuki’ mini bus (EKY 299 YC) while on a top speed struggling right of way (R.O.W) with other vehicles developed brake failure and rammed into two other vehicles (Toyota Corolla GGE 824 JA) and (Toyota Venza KSF 954 HG) on top of Anthony Bridge.

While LASTMA officials cleared all accidental vehicles off the road and handed them over to Policemen from the Ilupeju Police Division for further investigation, the accident victim was rushed to the General Hospital at Ikeja by officials of the Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS).

General Manager, LASTMA, Mr. Bakare-Oki Olalekan, however, appealed to the motoring public to desist from competing right of way with other vehicles and ensure that the braking system of their vehicle is in good condition before embarking on any journey within or outside the State.
