Emerging Nigerian artist, Lawal, is set to make his mark on the music scene with the release of his debut single, “Hips & Tits,” under Afrocott Records.
Born Obaseun Lawal Yusuf on July 30, 1999, Lawal’s musical journey began at a young age, influenced by his multicultural upbringing and diverse musical influences.
After the tragic loss of his mother in June 2023, Lawal returned to Lagos, where he met his cousin Felix Emma Eyo, also known as I-Mortal, who played a pivotal role in his music career. With I-Mortal’s guidance, Lawal secured a record deal with Afrocott Records, a UK-based label known for nurturing emerging talents.
Lawal’s sound is a fusion of Afro Pop and Afrobeats, blending rhythms with poignant storytelling. His debut single, “Hips & Tits,” showcases his bold voice and ability to convey raw emotions through his lyrics. The single is set to be released on May 10, 2024, marking his official entry into the music industry.
