Leke Adeboye feeds over 5000, gives free medical checkups

People in and around the Ikeja City Mall in Lagos couldn’t resist the energetic praise songs emanating from large speakers under some canopies when ‘Jesus in the Park,’ was held there.

Many joined in to dance and praise God. It was a large gathering of over 5,000 people who came to participate in ‘Jesus in the Park,’ organised by Pastor Leke Adeboye, the Lead Pastor of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, The Bridge (LivingSeed) in Ikeja, Lagos.

At the outdoor event which started at 9 am, had more than 4,000 individuals gathered to listen to sermons and dance to exhilarating praise songs led by gospel artists such as Pastor Kunle Ajayi, Bidemi Olaoba, Beejay Sax, Uche Okereke, Blessing Lopez, and others.

During the programme, participants in the vicinity received complimentary medical checkups, including dental, eye examinations and treatment. There were also makeover stands for hair and makeup services, as well as free eyeglasses, general healthcare treatment.

Additionally, free food, beverages, clothing, and other gifts were distributed to some of the vulnerable the attendees. Some also received healings and surrendered their lives to Christ.

Speaking on the outreach, Adeboye emphasised the need to extend an arm of love to everyone. On the concept of ‘Jesus in the Park’, he said that it was God who gave them the idea. “We didn’t even think of it on our own. The bible says that no wisdom is given to man except the wisdom from above. The goal is to move the church community outside its four walls and preach the gospel to the world.

“The best places to reach people on a Sunday are supermarkets, malls, and shopping centers.
“Every single time, Jesus would share His message, heal the people, and feed them. So, we decided to share a message with the people, pray with them, and provide free medical checkups for everything.”

He advised Nigerian youths not to give up but to dream big and keep hope alive. In his sermon, Pastor Adebayo Akinduyite, underscored the importance of evangelism because whenever any soul accepted Christ, there was rejoicing in heaven.

Pastor Leke’s wife, Pastor Titilope Adeboye, appreciated all the attendees, sponsors, and RCCG members who took out time to attend.
