The Cedars House of Grace has carried out free medical care for the people in Lekki metropolis, where free blood pressure check, eye surgeries, cancer screening, physiotherapy services, including giving of free drugs, eye glasses and other type of surgeries, among others, were carried out in Lekki, Lagos.
Speaking at the event, the Lead Pastor, Cedars House of Grace, Niyi Eboda, who spoke through the Associate Pastor, Oluwafemi Oluokun, hinged the exercise on the expression of the Church’s love for the community.
“We are in the spirit of the season when God is reminding us of His love to mankind.
“God gave his best to humanity and it behooves on us as His church to follow his footstep by giving back to the people in our community,” he said.
The pastor called on government to make available to every Nigerian health insurance scheme because according to him, many people are battling with diverse health issues, but unfortunately, cannot help themselves.
He added that the helpless state of Nigerians in this regard informed organising free medical camp for people in the area.
He disclosed that five major surgeries had been carried out, an expression of the Cedars House of Grace commitment to free healthcare for Nigerians in the vicinity where the Church operates, noting that a lot of people had died from illnesses that should not have killed them.
President, Creating Healthy Communities and Kingship Medical Mission Incorporated, Dr. Adeleye Babarinsa, at the event said his team was partnering with the Church at the instance of Eboda who is concerned about the health of people living in the community.
“Basically, a lot of people have eye problem when they are above 40 years, hence we are here with more than 200 reading glasses to give freely to those who would need them. We also gave a lot of eye drops and other eye medications.
Many people also have pains around their body and so we have physiotherapists on ground to counsel and treat those passing through one kind of pain or the other. Dentists are also available to care for those with dental problems, and those who have holes in their teeth that require extraction free of cost.
“We have carried out surgeries for goiter, hyenas and have removed breast lumps. We did quite varieties of surgeries including checkups. We did HIV tests, Hepatitis B and quite a lot of tests were carried out. We also did general treatment and attended to people’s questions,” he said.
He added that those who need cataract surgery were given referral without cost.
