From fashion runways to social media feeds, the corset has proven several times that it is here to stay. Dating back as far as the Victorian era when it was a staple in every woman’s wardrobe, the corset is one of the few clothing items that properly celebrates a woman’s body.
While the trend was already popularised in most European countries, it took a while before finding its way to Africa. Upon its arrival, Nigerian designers were quick to put a creative spin on it by creatively merging it with local fabrics and styles.
